My friends call me “D-Ho” and besides being a full-time graduate student I enjoy Bonsai.

This blog focuses on developing bonsai and learning trough trial and error, which seems to make up most of the fun to keeping bonsai aside from the beauty of the plants. I’ve kept bonsai on and off for about 15 years but I’ve become much more attached to the hobby/art in the past 4 years.

Central Texas is normally hot and has intense sun making it a challenging climate to keep bonsai especially using classic bonsai pots.  For that reason looking at native species has been a challenge for me as well as growing classic bonsai species and trying to optimize conditions for them.
